IS IT POSSIBLE TO PROTECT OUR CHILDREN FROM CHRONIC ILLNESS?

PROTECTING OUR CHILDREN IS NOT ONLY POSSIBLE, IT IS NECESSARY!

Health experts agree there is an urgent need to implement targeted interventions aimed at preventing chronic childhood illnesses. Our children endure many infectious illnesses during the early developmental years of their lives. Today, however, our children are facing a new threat to their health as chronic illness is affecting more and more young Americans.

A NATION IS ONLY AS HEALTHY AS ITS CHILDREN. Harry Truman (1946)

The most important thing a parent can do to protect a child from developing a chronic illness, no matter what genetic predisposition the child may have, is to support the immune system.

CHRONIC ILLNESS AND THE STATE OF OUR CHILDREN’S HEALTH

CHANGE IS POSSIBLE, AND NECESSARY!

Health experts agree there is an urgent need to implement targeted interventions aimed at preventing chronic childhood illnesses. Many studies suggest chronic health problems, along with learning and developmental disorders, appear to be on the rise. These maladies often affect their daily lives and normal activities, contribute greatly to school absenteeism, and requires continual medical attention.

The rate of chronic diseases in our children is astounding and outright terrifying for those paying attention.

IN THE PAST 8 TO 10 YEARS:

  • JUVENILE DIABETES increased by 23%
  • CANCER increased by 29%
  • ADHD increased by 43%
  • FOOD ALLERGIES increased by 50%
  • ASTHMA rates rose by almost 50%
  • AUTISM increased 150%
