THE IMMUNE SYSTEM AND IMMUNE HEALTH
It is amazingly easy to fall into paranoia and a fear-based mindset when a health crisis strikes. You feel like there are not a lot of answers to put your mind at ease. Therefore, you must take control of your health and well-being right now. Start doing the things, such as EXERCISING, to support your immune system’s ability to fight infections that could make you tremendously sick. There is no greater investment than that of investing in your own health and wellness.
KNOW THIS FACT: IF YOU DO NOT TAKE THE TIME TO BE HEALTHY, YOU WILL TAKE THE TIME TO BE SICK.
THE BODY'S NATURAL DEFENSE SYSTEM
The human immune system is a GOD given defense system that is extraordinarily complex and an astonishingly intelligent system in the body that works together to maintain your health. The primary role of the immune system is, essentially, to help your body identify threats and fight infection and disease. A healthy immune system is in constant motion. When balanced, an immune response can go completely unnoticed, as the body’s different types of white blood cells identify and eliminate pathogens and signal other cells to begin the healing process.
Eating a healthy, balanced diet with plenty of fresh vegetables and fruit makes the immune system happy. The emphasis here is on balance. Immunologists don’t know of any one food that does the trick. Not only does a diverse diet provide the vitamins and minerals that immune cells need to function normally, but it’s also good for the bacteria that live in the gut, which play an important role in keeping your immune system working properly, she adds. Adrian Martineau, an immunologist at Queen Mary University of London says, there’s little conclusive evidence that nutritional supplements like vitamins, iron, or zinc substantially improve immune function.
IT ALL COMES DOWN TO THE IMMUNE SYSTEM
The immune system is made up of a complex group of pathways that interact with one another, using micronutrients, hormones, and even gut bacteria, to maintain a delicate balance between health and sickness. The system is made up of cells, proteins, and hormones that work together in a complex relationship tracking and keeping a log of every microbe it has ever defeated in its’ memory cells. If this same microbe ever shows its' face again in your body your immune system will defeat it even swifter than before.
Children are exposed to numerous pathogens every day. On average, infants puts their hands or other objects in their mouths about 100 times an hour. When the immune system is functioning well, the child will be able to fight off these pathogens on their own.
Sometimes, the immune system can be overwhelmed by pathogens (bacteria, virus, or fungi that can cause disease), or by normal cells that mutate and grow out of control (cancers), causing a person to become sick. Even when this happens, we are generally able to return to health quickly.
IMMUNE HEALTH AT RISK
When it comes to our immune health, we really need to be aware of and do all that we can, to sustain and support healthy immune function throughout our life. Waiting to make your immune system a priority when you become sick or there is a crisis of epidemic proportion is a huge mistake.
